The Postcard Series
Spring Cheltenham is absolutely delighted to showcase this new collection of paintings by the incomparable Jon Wealleans. Titled ‘The Postcard Series’ for obvious reasons, this group of fifteen finely observed paintings brings his pop art sensibility to the tradition of the floral still life.
Using the bright primary palette he is known for and his curation of rare pieces of ceramic and glassware from the Art and Craft and Art Deco movements, alongside postcards of well-known artwork from history; these pieces are full of precious and surprising details in the full spectrum of joyful colour.
